Background

Nearly 650 students populate Jose Ah Young Integrated School in Barangay Tango of Glan, Sarangani. Most of the school’s classrooms were built in the 40s and 60s, which have now evolved into a total of 19 classrooms, two of which are makeshifts, while a few others are either dilapidated or due for demolition. Fortunately, despite the challenges brought by deteriorating buildings and makeshift classrooms, the school still has access to a stable water supply and reliable electricity.
