Background

Emilio Jacinto Elementary School caters to the poorest of the poor of Tondo, Manila. It is one of the oldest and biggest schools in the area and was handpicked by the Dolphy-Aid Foundation, started by none other than the late moviestar  Rodolfo “Dolphy” Quizon. He himself was an alumnus of the school and grew up in the area.

Impact Stories

Emilio Jacinto Elementary School became a beneficiary of HOPE in 2013, when the late Dolphy Quizon awarded his alma mater with a HOPE classroom, which to this day is still being used. According to Gina Timbas, Master Teacher II, that was just the beginning of the many blessings coming their way.

Students now enjoy the many amenities available to them with the establishment of the classroom, most especially the mini library, which can be found inside and allows the students to develop their reading skills with confidence. The bathroom found inside the classroom is also a big help. The shelves in the classroom have taken away the burden of carrying their bags and books to school every day. Lastly, a large fan was installed in the classroom to beat the heat. “HOPE classroom is the one ideal classroom in the school, from the colorful paint outside up to the wonderful things inside. We owe a lot to HOPE. We salute them!” Teacher Gina says as a parting note.
